At the end of 2020, the Meta company started selling virtual reality glasses Meta Quest 2. Mainly thanks to the low price and the widest selection of games and applications, they became the most used VR glasses on the market in three years. Hand in hand, they didn't have much competition at the time of release, or at least it was several times more expensive and, in all probability, needed an additional cable connection and a powerful computer. After three years on the market, the competition is more active and the age of the hardware also affects the value of the original Meta Quest 2. Very soon, they will be replaced by the next generation - Meta Quest 3. 

Meta Quest 3 virtual reality glasses will be equipped with an all-new mobile processor, which is expected to be developed in collaboration with Qualcomm. It should offer as much as twice as much graphics power as possible. compared to the processor built into the Meta Quest 2 glasses. Two more four-megapixel cameras have been added for better spatial perception. Meta Quest 3 VR headsets are expected to have full access to all previous games and applications. Future users hope that the launch of the new glasses will also stimulate the development of new games. The biggest concern of VR glasses users is the rather limited selection of games and applications. Major developers rarely make games for virtual reality because the number of users is simply too small to generate much profit. Meta Quest 3 will go on sale this fall.

The basic version of the Meta Quest 3 glasses will be sold in Europe for 570 euros. The higher price than its predecessors is said to be justified due to general hardware improvements and greater competition on the market. According to the revealed data, the new glasses should be as much as 40 % thinner compared to the Quest 2. In addition, the controllers will also be improved, which will be much lighter and will, as a result, enable #141 or simpler management.

Fortunately, Meta will later offer for sale even more affordable VR glasses. For now, it's just speculation, but it's supposed to be a Lite (unofficial name) version, which would understandably have worse hardware, but also twice the price. There is talk of 200 euros or even less, which is a very optimistic figure. In the event that this is realized, virtual reality would have the opportunity to live outside the community of enthusiasts. More of users means a greater probability that the biggest developers will join the VR world.
