Usually, we are not interested in what happens to Chinese products, which (in all probability) will never come to Europe. This time we will make a minor exception. Currently, China is in full swing with a special November festival that promises low prices on some products, including the Moore Threads MTT S80 and MTT S70 graphics cards.

Very briefly, Moore Threads is a Chinese graphics card manufacturer that has so far produced two consumer-grade cards for the Chinese gaming segment. These are MTT S80 and MTT S70. Based on MUSA's proprietary architecture, the MTT S80 is the world's only fully PCIe 5.0-compatible graphics card with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, while the Moore Threads MTT S70 is a stripped-down version that retains the PCIe 4.0 and 7 data bus. GB of GDDR6 memory.

Despite some decent specs on paper, the cards were underwhelming at launch - mainly due to poor optimization and software support, which led to slower performance even compared to the now very old GeForce GTX 1050 card, while spent more as 200 watts of electrical energy.

However, since then, Moore Threads has managed to optimize and launch software and game support updates. It is still far awayč from acceptable, but the company shows that it wants to improve its support and at the same time learn something from these mistakes.

Currently, the Moore Threads MTT S80 graphics card is priced at around US$160. This card has 16 GB of GDDR6 memory and is the cheapest graphics card with such a large VRAM capacity. Meanwhile, the Moore Threads MTT S70 graphics card is on the shelves for just over US$120, which is also a good price for a 7GB graphics card. Both cards are limited to Chinese markets.

If we compare them with other graphics cards, the Intel Arc 770 is the closest to them in terms of price-performance ratio. As Moore Threads is actively working on optimizing drivers for games and applications, their graphics card will be quite affordable for Chinese users. an attractive choice. Especially now, when the USA is stepping up sanctions against the Chinese economy. In the latest wave, the administration of the US president banned the sale of the latest NVIDIA RTX 4090 cards, which Chinese companies could use for the development of artificial intelligence. In all probability, the sanctions will escalate and it may happen that the Chinese market will be left without all the more established graphics cards. At that time, Moore Threads cards will be an even more attractive choice for Chinese gamers.
