Xiaomi Redmi Watch 4: a promising and cheap watch

Xiaomi launched the new Xiaomi 14 phones, the Redmi K70 and the new Xiaomi Redmi Watch 4 smart watch in China. As always, this time Xiaomi split the launch into two parts: China and the rest of the world. We do not know exactly when the phones and the new watch will arrive in Slovenia. However, we expect this to happen in February, or during the period of the MWC 2024 event. 

Redmi Watch 4 has a 1.97-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 450 x 390 pixels. The brightness has been improved to 600 nits, and the screen frame is made of aluminum alloy, and the crown is made of stainless steel. The watch is water resistant up to 5 ATM. The 47mm smartwatch now has a quick-release strap system, which might affect compatibility with various third-party straps. The battery has a capacity of 470 mAh, which, according to Xiaomi, should be sufficient for 20 days of use, of course without GPS on. We will be able to test whether this is true when the watch is launched in Europe. 

Xiaomi has also equipped the Redmi Watch 4 with Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC, as well as with more like 150 sports modes and sensors for monitoring key health data. Like the Watch S3, Xiaomi has pre-installed HyperOS, its own operating system, which can also be found on the Redmi K70 and the Xiaomi 14 series. The watch is available in China for around $70, which is great. price for a watch with such features. In Slovenia, we can expect a price of around €100 or some euro more.
