Apple solves the problem of excessive radiation of iPhone 12 phones

The French regulatory body recently banned Apple from selling older iPhone 12 phones after they failed key tests for electromagnetic radiation.

The company, which just unveiled its latest generation of iPhones, insists the 12 model is safe and that the phones have been certified in countries around the world since their 2020 launch. He points out that the problem, which was raised by the French government agency that manages wireless communication frequencies, is "related to a specific test protocol."

The French agency said the iPhone 12 recently failed one of two types of tests for electromagnetic waves that can be absorbed by the body. The French government immediately halted the sale of the phones and told Apple that it must immediately fix the problem or permanently withdraw the phones from sale and at the same time face a mass recall of the phones that are still in circulation.

In a statement, Apple said that it "will issue a software update for users in France, taking into account protocol used by French regulators.” They did not comment on what this update will change.

The French ban could be extended to all 27 EU countries after three months, if Apple does not issue an update and if no other government opposes it, European Commission spokeswoman Sonya Gospodinova commented.

The French Minister of Digital Affairs said that the radiation levels of the iPhone 12 are still much lower than those identified by scientific studies as potentially harmful to users. The Radiation Agency has admitted that its tests do not reflect typical phone use.
