You can now partially repair the Google Pixel Fold yourself

Google has announced that official replacement parts for the Google Pixel Fold are still available for purchase online. They explained that they offered “original spare parts” and repair instructions, including spare parts for battery and internal and external display. They are collaborating on the project with device repair specialists and spare parts suppliers from iFixit.

This is an important milestone for users, as the Pixel Fold has become the first foldable phone that, in theory, you can repair yourself – of course, if you manage to find it in Slovenia. As always, this Pixel phone is available in a very limited range. We found it in selected stores in Germany and Austria (price: 2000 euros). Other foldable phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, are used for repairs by classic services.

Even last year, the company Google was the first collaborated with iFixit experts and offered replacement parts for the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 smartphones, as well as some older models. Samsung also works with iFixit, but currently doesn't sell parts for phones newer than the 2021 Galaxy S21 series, and doesn't even offer parts for any flip phone Samsung has ever made.

Spare parts for the repair of the foldable smartphone Google Pixel Fold are available on the iFixit website and are expected to arrive in the European market soon.
