The updated Asus ROG Ally is much more powerful

Asus has recently officially launched the highly anticipated unique portable gaming console ROG Ally. Although the novelty is not cheap, it should offer a unique gaming experience without any major problems. This is indeedč equipped with powerful hardware and Windows 11 operating system, which is perhaps the most attractive feature, since there are not many Windows gaming consoles on the market, especially not with such specifications.

But the first tests did not yield the desired results of the manufacturer and also of certain users. ROG Ally is indeedč much slower than the competing Ayaneo 2S portable game console with comparable hardware, but in return it is also more expensive. Fortunately, ASUS engineers reacted fairly quickly and prepared an updated hardware code. On average, this improves the playing of console games between 10 and 15 percent. In addition, ASUS has also taken care of improving the electricity consumption of the new gaming console.

The Asus ROG Ally portable gaming console is powered by an AMD processor with Zen4 cores and an integrated AMD RDNA 3 graphics card manufactured using 4-nanometer technology. The weaker version #141 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor. This #141 uses six processor cores and 12 processor threads to calculate data. The data is processed up to a frequency of five gigahertz, and the graphic content has a built-in graphics core with 4 RDNA3 processor units. The more powerful version #141 has AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme. It has eight processor cores and 16 processor threads available for data processing.

The remaining hardware of the Asus ROG Ally portable gaming console includes another 16 gigabytes of LPDDR5 system memory and 256 gigabytes (AMD Ryzen Z1) or 512 (AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme) gigabytes of storage space. The novelty is also equipped with a suitable cooling system. The aforementioned Windows 11 operating system is installed on it. There is also a 40 Wh battery that can be charged at a speed of up to 65 watts. The autonomy of the battery, however, understandably depends on your settings and the selected game.
