Microsoft Copilot now with GPT-4 Turbo model, also for free users

So there is even greater efficiency, faster response time, and the list goes on.
Microsoft Copilot now with GPT-4 Turbo model, also for free users

Microsoft revealed that their Copilot will receive a big prize: integration with OpenAI's GPT-4 Turbo model. The best thing about all this is that even free users will have full access to GPT-4 Turbo.

According to the post on X, Pro users will be able to choose between the older standard GPT-4 model, which is a better option for specific usage. In this way, Microsoft Pro will offer users additional options, without depriving free users.

GPT-4 Turbo is an improved version of the basic GPT-4 and is well known for its speed, accuracy and ability to handle longer, more complex jobs. Microsoft's update brings faster code generation, more in-depth results, and improved responsiveness. All of this should lead to greater productivity and a cleaner coding process.

Copilot can gain value

It's great to see that even free users are getting significant updates to their Copilot UI assistant – it is certainly a good sign that Microsoft will ensure that all users, regardless of financial predisposition, can still benefit from the service. This is important because the tech giant needs to get more people to the Windows 11 operating system page, which will offer the full version of Copilot.

On the other hand, even Pro subscribers were not left empty-handed, as with the update they get more flexibility when it comes to language model upgrades. Not to mention the other features and tools that have been added so far.

Microsoft recently announced a new feature called Copilot Chatbot, which allows Pro users to create custom chatbots. These are adapted for individual tasks, depending on the user's role in professional life, for example. This update was undertaken by Microsoft without any input from OpenAI, which may indicate that Microsoft is slowly moving away from them, most likely due to the increased scrutiny and lawsuits they are dealing with. However, this is also unusual considering that the latest GPT update was added to Copilot.

There is also a function that allows Copilot to directly read files on the computer. The user can thus get a summary of the document, search for specific data or search for additional information on the Internet. Apparently, there will be no privacy issues, as the user must manually insert the file into the Copilot chat box (or select the "Add file" option) and then use the "prompt".
