ChromeOS is very popular among students, especially in America, but it is also established in the field of digital advertising and kiosks. Lenovo entered this market with the Chromebox Micro, which Google calls “the first compact Chromebox for organizations worldwide”.

Lenovo Chromebox Micro is "a compact, cost-effective and energy-saving mini-computer and media player". It is intended for digital advertising with the possibility of "streaming 4K videos, sharing online content 24/7 and managing touch-screen kiosks".

It is as big as a smartphone and weighs 1kg, is fanless and has a metal construction with no ventilation. The Chromebox Micro is powered by a dual-core Intel Celeron N4500 processor, has 8GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space. On the bottom edge there are two USB-C connectors, two USB-A, HDMI, RJ45 and an audio connector, and there is also support for two 4K screens.

In terms of software, the device connects to the ChromeOS Kiosk and Digital Signage Upgrades for easier setup and fleet management.

In cooperation with the company Instorescreen, Lenovo offered 15.6" and 21.5" inFLEX touch screens, which have a cut-out at the back into which the Chromebox Micro can be inserted. A single USB-C cable provides video, power and data. The Lenovo Chromebox Micro costs about $219 in the US and is expected to be available in Europe soon.
