Cheaper VR Glasses Meta Quest 3 Coming Soon?
Meta Quest 2 are virtual reality glasses that anyone can buy, put on their head and enjoy the virtual world. They are extremely easy to use and support a huge number of games and applications. They can also be connected to a computer, for example if you want to play the game Half Life: Alyx. For a long time they were considered the best buy, although they were not the most powerful. However, they were extremely cheap (around €300), so it was hard to beat them in terms of performance/price ratio. The closest they got were the PICO 4 VR glasses.
Meta Quest 2 is now 4 years old and users have been asking for more from what is offered. We got Meta Quest 3, an upgrade in every way, unfortunately also in terms of price. The Meta justifies the price increase with much better performance, including a processor and room-sensing cameras. The price is around 600-700 €, depending on the version, which is almost twice as much. from the base version of Meta Quest 2. Meta has jumped at the chance and there is apparently enough demand for a cheaper version of the latest VR headset.
Meta Quest 3 Lite or Meta Quest 3S is said to be equipped with much worse hardware, but for that, with twice the lower price. There is talk of 300 euros or even less, which is a very optimistic figure. Virtual reality glasses Meta Quest 3 Lite should be more powerful compared to the previous model Meta Quest 2, but they will not be equipped with advanced options, such as the ability to detect depth. In addition, they are said to be made of cheaper materials and offer a lower resolution, 1832 x 1920 pixels instead of 2064 x 2208 pixels. There should also be less memory available to store data. The entry-level version is supposed to be the #141; offered from 128 gigabytes to a maximum of #141; 256 gigabytes of built-in memory.
If the predictions about Meta Quest 3 Lite virtual reality smart glasses come true, virtual reality would have a chance to live outside the enthusiast community as well. Larger numbers mean a greater probability that the biggest developers will join the VR world.
