Excellent Copilot, however, also for Windows 10

Excellent Copilot, however, also for Windows 10

A while ago, Microsoft introduced the new Windows Copilot project, which finally announces the retirement of Cortana for Windows desktop computers. The tech giant has announced that it will stop supporting the standalone Cortana app for Windows towards the end of this year. In 2014, Microsoft introduced Cortana as a voice assistant for Windows mobile devices. It was their answer to Apple's Siri, but it never reached its level of recognition and popularity.

Over the years, Microsoft has persistently curtailed the development of the voice assistant and thus discontinued the standalone application for Android and iOS in 2021. The company has even removed it from partner devices such as smart speakers. Specifically for Windows, Microsoft changed its status as a built-in utility and instead converted it to a standalone desktop program. And in this form, we will say goodbye to her at the end of the year. Its popularity is indeedč currently at a very low level.

A year ago, Microsoft revealed that it planned to integrate artificial intelligence deep into the Windows 11 operating system with the help of the Copilot tool, which will be available in the sidebar of the platform. And that happened a while ago. Microsoft is indeedč #141 included the Copilot artificial intelligence in the early trial version of the Windows 11 operating system. The novelty can be easily invoked both by clicking on the dedicated icon and by using the "Windows+C" key combination.

The Copilot digital assistant can perform many tasks for users. Among them we find the inclusion of the dark mode of operation, the activation of the "do not disturb" mode, the capture of the screen image, the restoration of the website and much more. As already mentioned, Copilot is currently only available in the development version of the Windows 11 operating system. However, the novelty could soon become part of our everyday life.

Fortunately, Microsoft will soon offer the Copilot digital assistant to users of the already outdated Windows 10 operating system. The new feature will be available through a dedicated update. This will effectively gain Microsoft one billion potential users of the new digital assistant. The digital assistant Copilot will be available through the middle fold, which will be located in the toolbar near the messaging system.
