The popular Xbox Series X will go up in price

At the end of August 2022, Sony significantly increased the retail price of the popular PlayStation 5 gaming console. The price of the entry-level version of the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition gaming console has risen from around 400 euros to 450 euros. The price of the more powerful PlayStation 5 version has increased from around 500 euros to 550 euros.

Sony justified the increase in the price of the PlayStation 5 game console by raising the price of electronic components. The main reason for this is, of course, the rising prices of energy and primary raw materials for the production of consoles. Even though the price of the PlayStation 5 game console has increased by as much as 50 euros, they are still selling very well. However, no one was surprised when Microsoft announced a similar price increase. It's no secret that both companies don't make a profit from selling consoles, however. with games and subscriptions.

The company Microsoft is supposed to raise the price of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S game consoles first in Japan. The price increase was announced for August 1 this year. Fortunately, only the Xbox Series X gaming console will go up in price, from the current 500 euros to 550 euros. This means that its price will be the same as the more powerful version of the PlayStation 5 gaming console. The entry model Xbox Series S will still be available for 300 euros.

Another model of the Xbox Series S gaming console will be available to customers. The Carbon Black version will be available with a Solid State drive with a capacity of one terabyte. This means that it is possible to store almost twice as many games on it as on the classic Xbox Series S console. It will cost around 350 euros.

Unfortunately, the subscription to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also become more expensive. The Xbox Game Pass subscription will increase in price from 9.99 euros to 10.99 euros. The much more popular Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will increase in price from 12.99 euros to 14.99 euros. PC Game Pass will still be available for 9.99 euros.
