Not everyone needs a gigantic gaming monitor, but everyone would like to get something absurd at least once every few years, such as the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 monitor.

For all those who want a giant monitor, Samsung is preparing to release a huge 49-inch ultra-wide OLED monitor that will surely take your PC configuration to a new level. Odyssey OLED G95SC was the firstč announced at CES 2023 and now available for pre-order at the absurdly high price of €2,199.

That's a pretty steep price, but the Odyssey OLED G95SC is clearly aimed at PC gamers who want a premium experience. In addition to a 240 Hz refresh rate and 1800R curvature, the Odyssey OLED G95SC is said to be, according to Samsung, "the first OLED monitor to offer Dual Quad High Definition resolution (5120 x 1440) with a 32:9 aspect ratio."

This data combined with a high pixel density (110PPI) should make for an extremely immersive gaming experience for anyone with a deep enough wallet.

While there are many different and similarly crazy OLED monitors on the market, Samsung stands out from the rest with its own QD-OLED technology, which boasts more brightness and better contrast.

In addition, Samsung also includes some artificial intelligence that is supposed to maintain the dynamics of the monitor while switching between games or other content. Samsung claims the Odyssey OLED G95SC will be equipped with the Neo Quantum Processor Pro, which uses a "deep learning algorithm" to analyze on-screen scenes and automatically improve resolution and adjust brightness and contrast.

In terms of ports, the Odyssey OLED G95SC will include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, Micro HDMI 2.1 and USB hubs. Two thousand is a lot of money (you could build a very good PC or even two for that price), but Samsung is at least trying to justify the premium price with some extras beyond just the screen size and type.
