Valve introduced the Steam Deck with an OLED display

Valve has officially announced the Steam Deck OLED, an updated version of their handheld gaming console that starts at €569 (512GB) and will be available from November 16th. This new model is not focused on performance improvements, but on improving the overall user experience. It has a larger 7.4-inch OLED screen with HDR support and a 90 Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits brightness, which offers significantly better visual effects compared to the original model with an LCD screen. In addition, the battery life is extended up to 50 %, which is perhaps the most significant of all innovations.

Other improvements include a more efficient 6nm AMD APU, faster memory, a lighter build, improved cooling, louder speakers with better bass, better haptic responses, and a redesigned trackpad. ¡Äek. It is compatible with the same cases, offers the same compatibility of games and software updates, and has the same power power supply.

Valve's pricing strategy keeps the starting price for the Steam Deck unchanged, with the new OLED version available in 512GB for €569 and 1TB for €679 configurations. A limited edition clear model is also available for $679 in the US and Canada. The older model with an LCD screen and 256 GB of memory is now available for €419.
