Samsung Galaxy A55 - specifications, design...

The first renderings of the new Samsung Galaxy A55 phone have appeared online. Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A54, which we tested in the summer, the Galaxy A55 shows a familiar aesthetic with its central display with a cutout for the front camera and vertically aligned cameras on the back. With the exception of flat sides and a special frame around the physical buttons, it looks like the latest Galaxy A55 will be completely identical to its predecessor. Flat frames should become a regular feature even in the premium class.

A closer look at the physical layout reveals that on the right side, where the power and volume buttons are located, there is an unusual bulge that hugs said buttons. The bump on this side adds an extra half a millimeter of thickness to the phone. In contrast, the other side of the frame is minimalistic, with no slots or buttons. At the bottom is a USB-C port surrounded by a microphone and a speaker. At the top is the SIM card slot accompanied by a secondary microphone. The frames, decorated with antenna lines, suggest a solid metal look that promises durability and a premium feel.

The details of the screen of the Samsung Galaxy A55 indicate a 6.5-inch diagonal, FullHD+ resolution and an impressive refresh rate of 120 Hz. Although the thickness of the smartphone is 8.2 mm, we do not yet have information on its weight.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A55 will have an Exynos 1480 processor, a robust primary camera with a resolution of 50 MP and a battery charging capacity of 25W. The specifications promise users improved performance and advanced photography features. The phone could have up to eight gigabytes of system memory, up to 256 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. It will surely have the latest Android 14 with One UI skin on it.

If Samsung will stick to established release dates, we can expect the phone in late spring or early summer. The price of the predecessor was 499 euros, and we can expect a similar price for the Galaxy A55.
