Courier steals Apple devices as a bet
Being a courier is not an easy job. This purposeÄ delivers and accepts various types of shipments. Users of the UPS delivery company in Canada have experienced this first hand. Man Orville Martirez Beltrano is indeed between September 2023 and January 2024 stole Apple devices worth a total of more than as calculated 878 thousand euros. In total, the thief managed to steal as many as 866 different Apple devices.
The man sold the stolen devices through the Kijiji online store, which is similar to eBay in terms of its operation. He improperly transferred part of the money to his bank account, and used the remaining amount to pay off the debt for the car and the house. Most of the illegally acquired property was allegedly confiscated by the police in order to pay off the debt.
The man admitted to the police that he stole Apple products directly from the logistics center. However, since delivery services lose around one percent of shipments annually, the man skilfully evaded the deadline for several months. Fortunately, he was recently brought to justice. Of course, his prison sentence will soon be determined by the court.
