Opera One browser with artificial intelligence

Opera has introduced Opera One, a new version of the browser equipped with an AI chatbot called Aria. Similar to the Bing chatbot in Microsoft Edge, the Opera AI assistant works in the browser sidebar, where it can answer your questions with real-time information, generate text or code, generate ideas, and more. e more.

The built-in chatbot is powered by Opera Composer AI technology and connected to the OpenAI GPT model. To use the tool, you must log in to an Opera account if you do not already have one. Once you've done that, you can click on the Aria icon on the left side of the screen to start a chat. Although Opera started testing the updated version of the browser back in May, it is now finally available to everyone who downloads it.

Users have noticed many similarities with Bing, but also some changes or advantages. One of the best things about Aria's AI is that you don't need to open the sidebar to use it. Instead, you can open a command line-like overlay where you can quickly type a question or instruction. You can also highlight text directly on a web page, which opens a menu where Aria translates the highlighted text, explains it, or finds related topics online.

Although Aria can do almost everything that the Bing chatbot can do, it is still not quite comparable to the Edge assistant. Aria does not have the same system that allows you to quickly select a conversational style when asking questions, nor does it offer easy options that allow you to choose the tone, format, and length of the text you want to generate. You can still customize Aria's responses in these ways, but you must request it manually. Of course, Aria is still a new tool, and Opera will probably upgrade it in the future. Maybe Opera will also include the ability to generate images, which is something we recently got in Bing.

In addition to Aria, Opera One has a few additional upgrades. These include new “tab islands” that automatically group related tabs according to their context, as well as a new design and upgraded browser architecture. You can try Aria and the new Opera One browser on Windows, macOS and Linux.
