Discovering the most wanted trends of all time

Google celebrated its 25th birthday this year – we are celebrating this anniversary by looking back at the trends that have aroused group curiosity in the past years. 25 years of Googling gives us plenty of material to research, including nearly two decades of trend data. People around the world are often inspired by the same moments and seek the same answers.

Soccer, the most sought-after sport in the world, and Cristiano Ronaldo, the most sought-after athlete, demonstrate a love for the game that transcends borders. Taylor Swift's status as the most in-demand songwriter underscores the deep connection people feel with her music and, in turn, with each other. We also see the common "loveliness" in the most searched query "how to help": how to help people. And spiritual heart, the most sought-after spiritual book, which reveals another universal theme - our common need for love and understanding.
