Tech journalist Max Jambor, who previously hinted that the OnePlus Pad 2 would be released in the second half of 2024, has now revealed that the upcoming tablet will be based on Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. the powerful processor powers 2024 flagship smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and will also power the upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 series of tablets.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is a huge leap from the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor found in the original OnePlus Pad. The flagship chipset could pave the way for other interesting upgrades, such as a potential switch from LCD to AMOLED, a feature of Samsung's high-end tablet PCs.

While these upgrades could result in a higher price tag for the OnePlus Pad 2, the company could still find a way to offer compelling value compared to Samsung's offering.
